The Vice President of Clinical Development , Neurodegeneration will focus the design, execution, and oversight of early-stage clinical trials (Phase I and Phase II) in the United States. This role will work cross-functionally with R&D, regulatory, medical affairs, and external partners to shape the clinical strategy and advance assets from IND through proof-of-concept

Job Description

  • Provide strategic and scientific oversight for the planning and execution of early-stage clinical trials in neurodegeneration.
  • Design and implement clinical development plans, including study protocols, timelines, and endpoints aligned with regulatory and commercial goals.
  • Serve as the clinical initiator for interactions with regulatory authorities (FDA, IRBs) for early development programs.
  • Oversee clinical trial site selection, investigator engagement, and vendor management (e.g., CROs, biometrics, medical monitoring).
  • Interpret clinical trial data and ensure timely, high-quality reporting.
  • Work with preclinical, translational, regulatory, and CMC teams to do IND filings and study readiness.
  • Represent the company in key scientific, clinical, and regulatory discussions.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing clinical development team as the organization scales.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • MD or MD/PhD with board certification in neurology, psychiatry, or related discipline strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in clinical development, with a strong focus on neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Proven track record in early-stage drug development (Phase I-II), including IND submissions and clinical trial in the U.S.
  • Deep of neurodegeneration pathophysiology, clinical endpoints, biomarkers, and patient populations.
  • Strong problem solving, and cross-functional communication skill.
  • Passion for innovation in aging and neurobiology, with a science and patient-centric mindset.
  • Experience in a fast-paced biotech or small company environment is highly desirable.
